2019 HIGHLIGHTS 

15 POD SITES:

Organizational pod site providers across Ward 3, including 2 new sites:

  • Birds and Beans Cafe

  • Storefront Humber

  • St. Leo Catholic School

  • Lakeshore Environmental Gardening Society at the Daily Bread Food Bank

  • LAMP Community Health Centre

  • Barsa Kelly Cari-Can Cooperative

  • Lakeshore Collegiate Institute

  • Humber College - Lakeshore Campus

  • The Holy Trinity Catholic School

  • Father John Redmond Catholic School

  • Marguerite Butt Early Learning and Childcare Centre

  • Lakeshore Lodge Longterm Care Home

  • Toronto Public Library - Long Branch

  • Thomas Berry Early Learning and Childcare Centre

  • James S. Bell Junior Middle School

OVER 300KG HARVESTED:

303.3kg of harvest between the 15 sites producing various fruits and vegetables - a 50% increase from 2018 with an additional 26.64kg donated from the Lakeshore Environmental Gardening Society members. All produce was donated back into the community of South Etobicoke through the Daily Bread Food Bank and LAMP CHC's Good Food Market.

500+ WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS:

Over the course of summer, 10 free educational workshops were offered like wiggling worms and mindful eating. There were 582 persons that interacted with the programming.

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

2 seasonal employment opportunities created, including an Operations Coordinator and Educational Coordinator with the support of Canada Summer Jobs and Humber College.
